Victorian Black Celluloid Mourning Cameo Pendant & Chain Necklace

Beautiful Victorian carved black celluloid square cameo pendant & chain necklace.  The square celluloid pendant (60mm /2 3/8”) is hand carved either in mold or after as the carving pattern is asymmetrical and not mathematically exact, as a machine done one would be.   The second layer is a smooth and shiny oval (45mmx35mm) that has an intricate victorian lady cameo profile left side with a victorian headband and cloth hairstyle and jewelry necklace in the depiction.  Very rare and suspended from a matching black celluloid chain and O ring bail.  There is no clasp as this just fits over the head with no clasp.  Another clue that this necklace dates to the 1890’s- early 1900’s.
